Mandana Sadeghi

Mandana Sadeghi is a woman human rights defender, journalist, and social activist. Her journalistic work focuses on criticising state institutions in creating social, legal, and economic inequalities, especially its imposition on children, women and workers. She has repeatedly faced restriction and has been banned from writing due to her critical reports of the salinity situation in Abadan and Khuzestan province, suicides of workers, street vendors, working class right to livelihood, and the increasing growth of femicide rate in Khozestan province. She has faced numerous challenges and legal charges including “propaganda against state” because of her writings, social activities, and criticism of power, and has been repeatedly interrogated and summoned to court.
