Eduardo Escobar

Eduardo Escobar is a human rights defender wherewith over 15 years experience working with civil society organisations. His human rights work has focused on the defence of civil and political rights, including efforts to promote the rule of law and democracy.

As part of his work, he has promoted and called for free and fair elections through various mechanisms, particularly through legal action to democratize the country’s electoral system and to demand the state compliance with its obligation to act transparently.

Eduardo Escobar is currently director of the Asociación Acción Ciudadana (Citizens Action Association), which promotes transparency, accountability, the fight against corruption and impunity, and citizen participation in El Salvador.
